Woolaston was named runner up in the Inclusive Community category in Gloucestershire Rural Cmmunity Council (GRCC)'s Gloucestershire Village of the Year 2025

Woolaston Parish Council is very pleased to announce that Woolaston was named Runner Up in the Inclusive Community Category in Gloucestershire Rural Community Council (GRCC)’s – Gloucestershire Village of the Year 2025 (the winner of the category was Painswick (Stroud).

Woolaston’s community initiatives and social activities clearly made a strong impression on the judges, reflecting a growing commitment to social cohesion within the community.

Martin Rose was also recognised for his volunteer efforts with Woolaston Football Team, as a Parish Councillor, as a member of the WMH Committee and for his willingness to assist where and when required.  The Parish Council are thrilled that he received a Highly Commended certificate.

Woolaston Parish Council extends its thanks to all those who contributed to the competition entry, and, to the entire community. This recognition is a reflection of the dedication, passion, and hard work of local residents and organisations, who together make Woolaston an inclusive, welcoming, and vibrant place to live.
